The Department of Human Service’s “Home and Community Based Services” video series consisted of three titles; “Community Engagement”, “Person-Centered Services” and “Integrated Employment”. Rivertown’s video crews visited 12 care facilities throughout the state of Minnesota and conducted interviews with administrative staff, caregivers and residents. The facilities visited were selected by Minnesota DHS management and represented locations with imaginative and successful programs for the residents. In addition to taping interviews are crews captured successful programs in operation.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services / Aging and Adult Services is dedicated to monitoring and designing best practices in Minnesota’s senior care and assisted living facilities.

The completed videos were successful in motivating lower performing care facilities in Minnesota to set a higher bar in resident care by illustrating successful programs, suggesting new approaches to program planning and allowing facility staff and residents to share their experiences and what works.
